The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse: Is Christ the Rider on the White Horse? – Part 1

jeźdźcy apokalipsy

We have four horsemen of the Apocalypse, or the four horsemen of John’s Revelation. The second, third, and fourth horsemen are clearly described, they have a clear message. There is little controversy here. The rider on the white horse causes the most problems. Among Scripture scholars, there are several versions about this rider, namely: who is he?

Is Christ the rider on the white horse?

Is the rider on the white horse a conquering angel?

Is the rider on the white horse the antichrist, a demon?

“I looked, and there was a white horse. Its rider held a bow; a crown was given to him, and he went out as a conqueror (3528) in order to conquer (3528).” – Revelation 6:2.

Let’s read about the other riders:

Then another horse went out, a fiery red one, and its rider was allowed to take peace from the earth, so that people would slaughter one another. And a large sword was given to him.” – Revelation 6:4.When he opened the third seal, I heard the third living creature say, “Come!” And I looked, and there was a black horse. Its rider held a set of scales in his hand. Then I heard something like a voice among the four living creatures say, “A quart of wheat for a denarius, and three quarts of barley for a denarius, but do not harm the oil and the wine.” – Revelation 6:5-6.

When he opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth living creature say, “Come! And I looked, and there was a pale green horse. Its rider was named death, and hades was following after him. They were given authority over a fourth of the earth, to kill (615) by the sword, by famine, by plague, and by the wild animals of the earth.” – Revelation 6:7-8.

In another article we will check what kind of people God will punish with these plagues.
In the following articles we will also analyze two more points, namely whether the rider on the white horse is the conquering angel or the antichrist.

Is Christ the rider on the white horse?

1 – The first argument

Let us note that it is Christ, as the Lamb, begins the fulfillment of these prophecies. He is the Boss. He sits on the throne and opens the seals. Another of the spiritual figures called: a living being, summons the riders who are to perform specific tasks:

“Then I saw the Lamb open one of the seven seals, and I heard one of the four living creatures say with a voice like thunder, Come!” – Revelation 6:1.

Since Christ is the Boss, His task is to control, to manage prophecies. If He were sent directly, as a rider on a white horse, He could not manage prophecies. Prophecies have this thing about them that they can be fulfilled at the same time. They have to be done perfectly, therefore there must be a Boss, a Manager of prophecies. Here are the next verses presenting Christ as the Boss:

“But no one in heaven or on earth or under the earth was able to open the scroll or even to look in it. I wept and wept because no one was found worthy to open the scroll or even to look in it. Then one of the elders said to me, “Do not weep. Look, the Lion from the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has conquered so that he is able to open the scroll and its seven seals.”Revelation 5:3-5.

2 – The second argument

If Christ were the rider on the white horse, he would be lower in the hierarchy than the Living Being who sends the riders to fulfill the prophecies, yet it is the four beings who send the riders that worship the Lamb:

When He took the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb..” – Revelation 5:8.

Here we see clearly that the first of the four living creatures, who sends the rider on the white horse, is lower in hierarchy than the Lamb, because he kneels before Him. Since the living creature sends the rider, then the rider is lower in hierarchy than the living creature. This conclusion is in accordance with the Biblical rule:

Truly I tell you, a servant is not greater than his master, and a messenger is not greater than the one who sent him.” – John 13:16.

We know well that Christ is ONLY lower in hierarchy than the God The Most High. Therefore, Christ is NOT the rider on the white horse. He is too powerful a spiritual figure to be sent by a lower spiritual figure in the hierarchy of God.

3 – The third argument:

Some people represent the rider on the white horse as Christ because of this verse:

Then I saw heaven opened, and there was a white horse. Its rider is called Faithful and True, and with justice He judges and makes war. His eyes were like a fiery flame, and many crowns were on His head. He had a name written that no one knows except Himself. He wore a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called the Word of God. The armies that were in heaven followed Him on white horses, wearing pure white linen. A sharp sword came from His mouth, so that He might strike the nations with it. He will rule them with an iron rod. He will also trample the winepress of the fierce anger of God, the Almighty. And He has a name written on His robe and on His thigh: King of Kings and Lord of Lords.” – Revelation 19:11-16.

Yes, we have an example of Christ on a white horse. However, in this prophecy, Lord Yeshu appears as the Boss, as God, as the Ruler. He was sent to fulfill the prophecies by God the Most High. He is subject to Him and only this God, as in this hierarchy only God the Most High can send Christ to fulfill these tasks. Let us also pay attention to the fact that a white horse does not automatically mean that Christ is sitting on it. Above we read the description in which this army was sitting on white horses.

Summary

The rider on the white horse is NOT Christ, the Son of God the Most High. He is the second most important spiritual Figure. He is subject only to God the Most High.
In the name of God the Most High, He directs and manages prophecies that are to destroy the world belonging to another spiritual figure called: satan/adversary/devil.
The rider on the white horse is a figure that is sent into action by the Living Being. And the Living Being is subject to the rule of Christ.

I, Yeshu, have sent My angel to attest these things to you for the churches. I am the Root and descendant of David, the bright morning star.” Both the Spirit and the bride say, “Come! Let anyone who hears, say, “Come! Let the one who is thirsty come. Let the one who desires take the water of life freely. I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds to them, God will add to him the plagues that are written in this book. And if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God will take away his share of the tree of life and the holy city, which are written about in this book. He who testifies about these things says,“Yes, I am coming soon.” Amen! Come, Lord Yeshu! The grace of the Lord Yeshu be with everyone. Amen.” – Revelation 22:16-21.
