In the first article on the four horsemen of the Apocalypse, we analyzed the first of the three versions, namely: Is the rider on the white horse Christ?
Today we analyze the second version.
1. Is the rider on the white horse Christ? – LINK
2.Is the rider on the white horse the conquering angel?
3. Is the rider on the white horse the antichrist, the demon?
Let us recall the verse we were examining:
“I looked, and there was a white horse. Its rider held a bow; a crown (4735) was given to him, and he went out as a conqueror (3528) in order to conquer (3528).” – Revelation 6:2.
If the rider on the white horse is an angel, it means that he conquers the world built on lies. The angel, along with other servants of the Highest God, would destroy this lie by transmitting the truth. The truth destroys liars. They lose respect in the nation, power and money, which means that liars lose what they built their monument on. The rider on the white horse is supposed to win, to subjugate people who value the truth.
See how the world of satan fears the truth today. Depending on what field interests you, Reader, you will see these relationships there, whether in medicine, politics, history, geopolitics and of course in faith. The rider on the white horse is to strike these worldly lies. As Revelation 7:2 writes, he is to „…harm the earth…” From the point of view of liars, exposing their attitude is a wrong for them.
In other words, the rider on the white horse will accomplish the proclamation of the Good News in every nation and language:
“Then I saw another angel flying high overhead, with the Eternal Gospel to announce to the inhabitants of the earth — to every nation, tribe, language, and people. He spoke with a loud voice: “Fear God and give Him Glory, because the hour of His judgment has come. Worship the One who made heaven and earth, the sea and the springs of water.” – Revelation 14:6-7.
“This Good News of the Kingdom will be proclaimed in all the world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.” – Matthew 24:14.
The Rider on the White Horse and His Bow
“And I looked, and behold, a white/bright horse, and he who sat on it had a bow…”
What could a bow mean?
A bow is a tool that can be used to kill, to defend, to deter.
Let’s pay attention to an important fact: the rider on the white horse has a bow, but no arrows. A bow without arrows means that it is not used to kill. It is a tool of deterrence or reminds us of the covenant that God made with Noah and his offspring:
“Then God said to Noah and his sons with him, “Understand that I am establishing My covenant with you and your descendants after you, and with every living creature that is with you — birds, livestock, and all wildlife of the earth that are with you — all the animals of the earth that came out of the ark. I establish My covenant with you that never again will every creature be wiped out by floodwaters; there will never again be a flood to destroy the earth.” And God said, “This is the sign of the covenant I am making between me and you and every living creature with you, a covenant for all future generations: I have placed My bow in the clouds, and it will be a sign of the covenant between Me and the earth. Whenever I form clouds over the earth and the bow appears in the clouds, I will remember My covenant between Me and you and all the living creatures: water will never again become a flood to destroy every creature.” – Genesis 9:8-15.
The Rider on the White Horse and His Crown
„…and a crown/wreath was given to him (4735)”.
The word number 4735 in Bible dictionaries means: royal position, crown of victory, but also the crown that was placed on Christ’s head at His death.
Here are some selected Bible verses with the word crown/wreath:
“Then I looked, and there was a white cloud, and one like the Son of Man was seated on the cloud, with a golden crown (4735) on His head and a sharp sickle in His hand.” – Revelation 14:14
“Blessed is the one who endures trials, because when he has stood the test he will receive the crown (4735) of life that God has promised to those who love Him.” – James 1:12.
“Be faithful to the point of death, and I will give you the crown (4735) of life” – Revelation 2:10.
“Around the throne were twenty-four thrones, and on the thrones sat twenty-four elders dressed in white clothes, with golden crowns (4735) on their heads.” – Revelation 4:4.
The Rider on the White Horse – the winner
The word to win, numbered 3528 in the Bible verses, refers to the victory of Christ, the saints, and the beast:
“In the same way, the one who conquers (3528) will be dressed in white clothes, and I will never erase his name from the book of life but will acknowledge his name before My Father and before His angels.” – Revelation 3:5.
“The one who conquers (3528) I will make a pillar in the temple of My God, and he will never go out again. I will write on him the name of My God and the name of the city of My God — the new Jerusalem, which comes down out of heaven from My God — and My new name.” – Revelation 3:12.
“To the one who conquers (3528) I will give the right to sit with Me on My throne, just as I also conquered and sat down with My Father on His throne.” – Revelation 3:21.
“And it was permitted to wage war against the saints and to conquer (3528) them. It was also given authority over every tribe, people, language, and nation.” – Revelation 13:7.
Summary
We have a lot of arguments for the version that the Angel of Victory sits on a white horse.
