We have an interesting vision in the Book of Revelation, namely the image of the New Jerusalem, the Bride and the Bridegroom.
This is a beautiful perspective referring to eternal life. Few people know about this, or are unaware of it, or perhaps even disregard it, laugh at these words.
Namely… current life is a test, a trial that answers the question: are we suitable for living for thousands of years among honest, loving people?
God will no longer allow a situation where evil people, liars, murderers, s atanists, idolaters will seize power on earth. What we see now is the rapidly approaching end of their rule, their existence.
It is worth believing in the words of Scripture, it is worth implementing the true teachings of Christ. Not those that religions convey. Half of them, or even more, are arbitrary lies.
I encourage you to do your own research of the Scriptures…
And now let’s enter into the beautiful vision of eternal life…
Who is the Bridegroom?
John rejoices that the mission of preparing the way for the Bridegroom has been fulfilled. The Bridegroom is Yeshu Christ Himself.
„He who has the bride is the Bridegroom; but the friend of the Bridegroom, who stands and listens to Him, rejoices greatly at the Bridegroom’s voice. Therefore this joy of mine is now complete.” – John 3:29
Yeshu calls Himself the Bridegroom:
“Can the wedding guests mourn while the Bridegroom is still with them? But the time will come when the Bridegroom will be taken away from them, and then they will fast.” – Matthew 9:15.
The wise and foolish virgins. The parable shows that the true bride is watchful with the lamp of faith burning. Only those who have „oil” will enter the wedding feast of the Lamb.
„Then the kingdom of heaven will be like ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the Bridegroom.” – Matthew 25:1.
The Bridegroom, that is, Christ:
“Can the wedding guests fast while the Bridegroom is with them? As long as they have the Bridegroom with them, they cannot fast. But the days will come when the Bridegroom will be taken away from them, and then they will fast in those days.” – Mark 2:19–20.
“Can you make the wedding guests fast while the Bridegroom is with them? But the days will come when the Bridegroom will be taken away from them; then, in those days, they will fast.” – Luke 5:34–35.
Who is the Bride?
The bride is the saints of God, purified and faithful, clothed in spiritual purity and righteousness:
“Let us rejoice and be glad and give Him glory, for the wedding of the Lamb has come, and His bride has made herself ready. And it was granted to her to be clothed in fine linen, bright and pure, for the fine linen is the righteous deeds of the saints.” – Revelation 19:7–8.
“And one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls full of the seven last plagues came and spoke with me, saying, ‘Come, I will show you the bride, the wife of the Lamb.’ And he carried me away in the Spirit to a great and high mountain, and showed me the holy city, Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God, having the glory of God. Her brilliance was like a very costly stone, like a jasper stone, clear as crystal. It had a great, high wall, with twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and on the gates the names of the twelve tribes of the sons of Israel were inscribed.” – Revelation 21:9-10.
The Spirit and the Bride call for union with Yeshu:
“The Spirit and the bride say, ‘Come!’ And let the one who hears say, ‘Come!’ Let the one who is thirsty come; and let the one who wishes take the free gift of the water of life.” – Revelation 22:17
The Bride is God’s people, purified by the word and the blood of the Lamb. Christ Himself sanctifies her so that she may become glorious and without blemish:
„Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave Himself up for her to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word, and to present her to Himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless.” – Ephesians 5:25-27.
The bride belongs to Christ – John’s testimony:
“He who has the bride is the bridegroom; but the friend of the bridegroom, who stands and listens to Him, rejoices greatly at the bridegroom’s voice. Therefore this joy of mine is now complete.” – John 3:29.
“For I am jealous for you with a godly jealousy; for I have betrothed you to one husband, to present you as a pure virgin to Christ.” – 2 Corinthians 11:2.
Who is New Jerusalem?
The New Jerusalem symbolizes the community of the saved:
“And I saw the holy city, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.” – Revelation 21:2.
„Through Him we both have access to the Father by one Spirit. So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Yeshu Himself being the cornerstone, in Whom the whole structure, being joined together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord, in Whom you also are being built together into a dwelling place for God by the Spirit.” – Ephesians 2:18-22
„But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to innumerable angels in festive assembly, and to the assembly of the firstborn who are enrolled in heaven, and to God, the judge of all, and to the spirits of the righteous made perfect” – Hebrews 12:22-23.
Let’s Summarize
Who is the New Jerusalem? Who is the Bridegroom?
The Bridegroom is Yeshu Christ – the Lamb of God, the Son of God, who gave His life for His people.
He is the One who came to establish the New Covenant, a spiritual marriage between God and humanity.
His love is faithful, pure, and sacrificial. He went away to „prepare a place” (John 14:2), and He will return to take those who are His to Himself.
He is the King, the Savior, and God who comes for His bride in glory.
Who is the Bride?
The Bride is God’s people – the community of believers, purified by the word and the Spirit.
These are those who have been born again, remain faithful to Yeshu, and await His return with their lamps of faith burning brightly.
The Bride is a „pure virgin” (2 Corinthians 11:2), „a church without blemish or wrinkle” (Ephesians 5:27), and „the saints clothed in fine linen” (Revelation 19:8).
Who is the New Jerusalem?
The New Jerusalem is an image of the Bride in glory, God’s people transformed and united with the Lamb for eternity. The angel announces that he will show the bride, and he shows… a city. The city symbolizes the people who belong to God, who dwell in His presence, and who are one with the Lamb.
John sees it „coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband” (Revelation 21:2).
The New Jerusalem is the Bride in a perfect state, after the wedding of the Lamb – cleansed, sanctified, and filled with the glory of God.
What is the Kingdom of God?
This is a wonderful place in heaven and on earth that God has prepared for His servants, for God’s people.
It is a beautiful reward for the current hardships of life in this world. These verses motivate us to act, to endure hardship, because there is truly something worth fighting for: a life without illness, without stress, without death, in a joyful, beautiful atmosphere – that is the dream of each of us.
